Salsa

I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures AND text from my phone at the same time. For now, I'm posting the pic and then coming back and adding text. I'll figure it out somehow! :)

These are the ingredients I used to make salsa over the weekend.

Handful of chopped cilantro
Can of diced tomatoes w/jalapenos
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
Salt to taste

Easy to make!
Refreshing!
Spicy!

What else can you ask for?

Oh yeah--chips. I ate it on wheat crackers b/c I didn't have any tortilla chips.

Top 2/Finale American Idol - May 19, 2009

Since I got caught up in the moment and never added this post to my blog, here it is! If you've already read it, here it is again. If not, hopefully you'll enjoy! It's still a litle strange to not have anybody to watch on Tuesday nights. We will always have YouTube...except for when it crashes! Coming soon, my blog about 2 documentaries I saw this weekend. And I still haven't claimed my FaceBook username. I prefer to stick with my number for now...whatever it is!

We made it! It's here!

I'm not doing a full-blown recap of the show. Between being an avid Adam fan and not seeing any of Kris's performances, the recap would be slightly biased. More than usual.

I found it fitting that throughout the whole season the judges kept saying, "Dog, you picked the wrong song..That for me was not the right song for you," only for the top 2 contestants to have to sing that song co-written by that judge. It wouldn't have been American Idol without the cheesefest, right?

I did love the "Change is Gonna Come" performance by Adam. Probably for reasons I shouldn't have. I'm going to rant for just a second here. There's been lots and lots of talk about Adam's lifestyle, if you will, not only since the beginning of the show but it really ramped up when Danny got the boot. For me, I could give a flying rat's patootie about what Adam, or Kris for that matter, does in his spare time and with whom he spends his spare time. This is a singing/entertaining competition and that's what people should be voting on. And for people who think that Adam is not a good role model, give me a break. Oh yeah-why did I like "Change" for all the wrong reasons? Because the same people who are saying they don't like Adam for reasons that have nothing to do with the show might have liked this song. They're going to like the song and feel a slight change of heart. Not much, but slight. Then they're going to do a YouTube search for Adam singing that song and they're going to stumble across a video. A video from 2004 of Adam singing this song. Garbed in feathers, netted/mesh shirt, a gold belt buckle and more glitter than I know what to do with. And this makes me happy. :)

I really really really want Adam to win. But no matter the outcome, the world is his stage.

Housekeeping:
I have not yet seen who won DWTS, so please don't tell me. I should know before the AI Results show.
I started watching The Bachelorette (haha!) and plan on following it as long as I can, so I might have recaps on that. Haven't decided yet.
Excited about SYTYCD, and might also follow that show.
Other than that, school's out for the summer kiddos! It's been fun!
